Cigarette butts are liter stash 'em or trash 'em

Picture of a brown sticker that reads Cigarette butts are litter stash'em or trash 'em in white. A cigarette butt is protruding from the sticker. Picture taken on 17 July 2009

Generally it is easy to put a sticker into a simple category. It can be art, advertisement, litter, or vandalism. But this sticker defies easy categorization. It could be an artistic statement. It is discouraging litter, but could itself be thought of as vandalism. This picture was taken on third street between Candelas restaurant and bar and the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association Senior Gardens and may be part of the cultural and generational exchange between the two establishments.

Feed the Hungry

02 May 2009
This sticker was found around the corner from Gaslamp Chiropractor on some sort of fire hydrant. I am not sure if the sticker is printed or hand drawn. It looks to be the size of some stickers that I have seen recently that were definitely hand drawn. Here is the info for the Chiropractor office:

Sexy sirens stuck at the bottom of the fountain

Pictures taken 28 March 2009
I don't know if this sheet of tabloid newsprint fell into the fountain by happenstance or if it was laid as a piece of art. Either way the effect was visually stunning. Unfortunately I was not able to capture the full beauty of the effect with my camera. This was found in Children's Park adjacent to the new children's museum. The tabloid is one of the free variety that is dispensed a few feet from the fountain.
